Depending on your arrival time, you can enjoy a short walk in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, try some street food, or relax with a glass of mint tea on a rooftop terrace. Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Begin your journey by crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning kasbah architecture. Continue through Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, and follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the beautiful Dades Valley, where you’ll stay overnight in a gorge-side guesthouse.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

Drive through the Dades and Todra Gorges, known for their canyon walls and dramatic scenery. After lunch near Tinghir, head toward the desert via Erfoud and Rissani. Upon arrival in Merzouga, mount a camel for a sunset ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp, enjoying local music and stargazing by the fire.

    Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Wake early for a desert sunrise, then ride camels or 4×4 back to the village. After breakfast, travel through the Ziz Valley, lush with palm groves and red-rock cliffs. Stop for lunch in Midelt, then pass through the cedar forests near Azrou, where you might see Barbary monkeys. Continue through Ifrane—known for its alpine vibe—before arriving in Fes for the night.

    Day 5: Explore Fes

Spend the day in the intellectual and cultural heart of Morocco. Wander the medieval Fes el-Bali medina, explore the Al Quaraouiyine University, Chouara tanneries, and Medersa Bou Inania. Visit the Royal Palace and Jewish Quarter, and enjoy panoramic views of the city from Borj Nord. Overnight in a traditional riad within the medina.

    Day 6: Fes – Volubilis – Meknes – Casablanca

After breakfast, head west toward Volubilis, where you’ll explore well-preserved Roman ruins with stunning mosaic floors. Continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, and visit Bab Mansour, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the old granaries. In the afternoon, drive to the bustling metropolis of Casablanca, where you’ll stay overnight.

Day 7: Casablanca – El Jadida – Essaouira

In the morning, visit the famous Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most stunning mosques in the world, perched above the Atlantic. Then head down the coast to El Jadida, a former Portuguese port with a lovely seaside medina. Continue through the coastal countryside to reach Essaouira, a charming and windy beach town filled with art, seafood, and laid-back vibes.

Day 8: Full Day in Essaouira

Enjoy a relaxed day in Essaouira, walking along its fortified walls, colorful port, and artisan shops. Visit the Skala de la Ville, browse galleries, or watch the fishermen at work. You can try kitesurfing, camel rides along the beach, or simply enjoy fresh seafood in the harbor. Essaouira is also a great place to shop for crafts without the hectic pace of bigger cities.

    Day 9: Essaouira – Marrakech

After breakfast, leave Essaouira and drive through the Argan tree forests, where you might see goats climbing into the branches! Visit an argan oil cooperative to learn how this famous Moroccan oil is made. Arrive in Marrakech by afternoon and spend your last evening exploring the medina, shopping, or enjoying a rooftop dinner overlooking the bustling square.

    Day 10: Marrakech – Departure
